We would point out that, if we are precluded from carrying un our business in Hongkong, very heavy losses will inevitably be incurred. and that these will fall largely on British Banks and British manufacturere, as, although we/technically a German firmy

Lin China Macher by far the greater proportion of our imports into Hongkong and China consists of British goods, and our business is financed almost en- tirely by British Banks.

We trust therefore that, in view of the circumstances, you will see your way to granting us a license to continue trading in Hongkong and will cable out to this effect.
